Music is Emotion
Follow Ups:
that of Rasario Dawson's.
My son home from college, and we had planned several weeks ago to see this movie. I can't tell you how bad this was. WE saw Troy a few months ago, and in comparison, Troy is a classic......which is certainly not the case. Boring, surprisingly weak acting, hard to follow( one scene ends with his father banishing him, and the next has him avenging his father's killer?), and a weak copy job of Braveheart addressing the troops.
for exposing him to gay porn.
What's with the Gaelic accents? Other than Jolie who sounded like a European mix of some kind. Even called each other "lad". I kept waiting for Mel Gobson to ride in with his painted face. Geeshh!!

Notre Dame got their butts whipped by USC last night......thanks
Ed,Saw it last night with the lady of the house and we both hated it. I have a B.A. in Near Eastern History, so the material was not exactly new to me.
Boring, Boring, Boring.
Did I mention that it was boring?
Poorly edited and very uninspiring film.
1 star (and only for the battle scenes)
1/3 of the audience left before the last battle in India.

Clark,It was awful to the point of laughing during pivotal moments. I had to kick the guy in front of me who was snoring.
Almost time to eat.

...it was like Troy, only less interesting...
EdM,I enjoyed very much your linked reviews. When the reviews are so unaminous we can expect a later reactionary element.
Reading between the lines I can see that- not yet- not now, but in a "few" years, "Alexander" will compared favourably to "Citizen Kane".
"Oh the intense subtlety!
The quiet poetics of blood!
The sublimated Oedipal structure reminds one of "Under Milkwood" by Dylan Thomas
Real actors!
The costumes!
Not long enough!
Reveals Alexander's private life to be similar to Nixon's- except for the sex!
Excellent camera angles!
Great use of blue!
Almost always in focus!"Just thought I'd cause a little trouble in time for the holidays..
Cheers,

Heaven's Gate or Cleopatra morelike!
...sound like a real Thanksgiving turkey...when two different local newpapers entitle their reviews "Not so Great".
