Patrick, very few people have seen The Aviator yet. It has not been released in the US. The first critic/exhibitor screenings just happened within the last 10 days.

The industry buzz (so far) is favorable. David Poland (MovieCity News) seems impressed. He says it's the only movie that can beat the film version of Phantom Of The Opera for the Best Picture Oscar, whatever the hell that means. (Phantom is expected to do huge holiday business here based on the popularity of the stage musical.)

As a fan of Scorsese, I am cautiously optimistic...at least until after I see it.
