I didn't care enough about the characters - people so deeply stuck in their self destruciveness - to really get into the film.

It was just soooo negative and, I felt, tried too hard to be gritty in an arty way. Gritty in a gritty way may have worked better for me.

"Where are we going? And what am I doing in this hand basket?"
