I watched one of your earlier recommendations, Louder than Bombs. Unfortunately the DVD looked and sounded appallingly poor (worse than a mediocre videotape) to the point of being distracting. I thought the film was all right, a little too ordinary for my tastes and didn't quite give me the emotional punch that these type of films sometimes do. (I admit to liking movies for a taste of fantasy and glamor.) Nevertheless, I'll look out for these new titles you recommend.

Follow Ups:
I hope you like them. The Seaside, as I said, is definitely not for everybody. It is a movie for those of us who love to sit at the small table in the sidewalk cafe and watch people - how they are dressed, the way they present themselves through their cloth, jestures and body language, how they interact with others and react to the world around them. I had spent many hours doing this. There are quite a few characters in that film and of course they are all given limited time, but amazingly, enough time to get you started on character studies.
Also appreciated was the fact that answers were not really given to you, so there was plenty of room left for your imagination.
And the Tycoon is just a great fun in a nice package, so easy to enoy.
