yep, it was entertaining, watching Cusack and Billy Bob, but not a very good film really. I wouldn't recommend it, but wouldn't walk away from it either. The best thing about the movie, and the reason I rented it, was watching them "soar the rotor" behind the heavys.
As a person who has flown gliders thru unseen wake turblence, I can tell you that they did not survive what you saw on the screen. That compares with bodysurfing the Wedge at Newport.Did like Grosse Pointe. Very funny Dan Ackroid part, didn't you think? But my favorite Cusack film is still "Better off dead". I must be immature. Waiting for High Fidelity to get to tape.
HelloHaven't seen that one will try to find it. What about
"Being John Malkovich" I enjoyed it but don't know why.

yes I liked it very much. Quirky, weird. Notice how Malkovich blew everyone else off the screen? You hardly noticed any of the other actors once he appears. I loved Orsen Bean in that too. Nice to see him back. I pretty sure I know where that ditch is.Warning about "Better off Dead". This is a teen explotation film. Target audience is 14. It is silly and juvenile. Most of it is really awful. But, there are moments of real brilliance, and the funny bits are side-splitting. Cusack at his best. Like much of this genera of comedy, it improves with age, becoming funnier the more times it's seen.
I'd rank it with "Airplane". Mostly stupid, frequently dull, but when it's good it's as good as it gets.
Cusack was very good, but I don't think his performance overshadowed Catherine Keener. I thought she was tremendous and deserved the best supporting actress Oscar for that role.A couple other good Cusack movies: "The Sure Thing" was another funny (and juvenile) flick, and "Say Anything" is one of my all-time faves. Oh, and let's not forget "The Grifters," though that falls into an entirely different category of movie....

petewThat's OK I find some of those films most rewarding. When I go to
the movies I don't want to be preached to just entertained. Like I
can't stand Adam Sandler "Happy Gilmore" makes me laugh.

You see, I let my disgust for certain trends keep me from enjoying life. I'm afraid I would laugh at parts of "Happy Glimore", so I refuse to watch it. It's so hard trying to be a cultural snob. We get no respect!I have the same problem with RAP. I know I hate it, but it's so hard to keep your body from reacting--a moral struggle in a physical space.
> > so I refuse to watch it < <You will miss out on a white-haired Bob Barker beating the crap out of Sandler.

Pete,Send a confidante to the video store for "Happy Gilmore," draw the curtains, and have fun. I have an advanced degree in English literature and try hard to maintain my cultural snob status, but I laughed out loud at this movie. Even cultural snobs have to let their hair down occasionally.
