Just re-visited this and found it still mysterious and entertaining. Rich in 1955 detail and colorful metaphor this film is, by far, Mickey Rourke's best on screen performance before he got creepy looking and acting. In 1987 it was a mindblower and still holds up well today. Good short takes of DeNiro, Rampling, and Bonet talent.
Follow Ups:
That was worth the price of admission alone. But it was a good movie. Just watched it again the other week and it does hold up completely well today.
Music is Emotion
she got kicked off the Cosby Show for that movie.

fresh out of Temple U. on Mike Douglas.

That's a good film. I had coincidently rented both "Angel Heart" and "Blue Velvet" in the same night, watching them both for the first time. That is what you call striking gold. That was a good, good film night.I found the 1999 film, "8MM" with Nicholas Cage even darker and better than both those films.
There were about ten of us in the theatre at the start and three of us when it was over. It was a complete overload for me and I was hooked on Lynch from then on.Actually, I feel this is his best "creative" work and The Straight Story his best "normal" work.
I saw this film in the theater for the first time at 2:00 AM and I was the only one in the theater. That was definitely the way to see it. Quite freaky.
I could never finish that film.
I finish it, but that is the film I always have avoided to see again.
...take you to your subconscience, all the stuff that is occulted.
That pretty much tells me you've never taken a shot at Eraserhead.

I'm wondering. One site only gave it one star. I think it's a killer of a movie.
