Greatly enjoyed TLA, a perfect matinee movie. Had a smile on my face most of the time. Owen Wilson, a Wes Anderson regular, acquits himself superbly with a Kentucky drawl and demeanor. Kate Blanchett was the soft-bitch reporter, Michel Chabon, Willem Dafoe... oh the list goes on and on... Bill Murray ("OK so I'm a showboat and a prick.")... Besides other things, the movie is a satire of PBS documentary style. The Almodovar was a tougher bite. I'll say only this: The reviews I read didn't seem to scope it correctly; the thing is both a puzzle movie (which I like) and Day for Night (which I adore) with a vengeance!
Follow Ups:
Almodovar is on a roll. Bernal in drag...mmmmmmm...Will catch TLA late in the week - BA hasn;t opened in the hinterlands yet.
