I am trying their two-week free rental. Service has been impeccable so far. Discs arrive and are received the next day after mailing, faster than Netflix. We are very close to both distribution centers but BB is still faster. Their rates are cheaper than Netflix, epecially the higher disc rentals. That last Netflix 20% increase was just too much to stomach.Selection seems excellent. You can even rent Superbit movies (!) and they had the most recently remastered editions of the movies I checked out. Have not investigated more obscure titles yet. After being a charter member of Netflix I am sure I will be moving over to BB.
Follow Ups:
Thanks for the heads up on BB online rental service.Since BB and Walmart have entered the market, the price has dropped for online rental services. Competition is good, but not if it eliminates competitors and therefore options.
I would watch out for "bait-and-switch" tactics from BB. Several years ago, I had a BB credit card whereby I would accrue credit for movie rentals depending on how much I used the card.
Sure enough, after about one year, they changed the conditions of the card, eliminating the accrued rental benefit. I wrote a protestation to BB and promptly canceled by card.
Netflix has had every title (very obscure ones, not your run of the mill stuff) I've requested. What's the scoop with BB?
