And I thought I despised DeCaprio.He was excellent in this as were Kate Blanchette as Katherine Hepburn and the actress who played Ava Gardner. Also excellent were the actors playing his engineer chief and his CEO.
Lots of great cameos in this one. Baldwin, Ian Holm, Alan Alda, etal.
A sympathetic portrait of Howard Hughes. An adventure/bio story with depth and pathos.

considering there are a host of other movies where famous actors have scrambled to express themselves in the roles of dysfunctional people (Scent of a Woman, RainMan, Good Will Hunting, Nell, etc. etc.) I thought Di Caprios role in What's Eating Gilbert Grape to be the best of the lot of that (sorry) genre
Thought he was stellar in Catch Me If You Can where he could have easilly been upstaged by Christopher Walken (who I will never forgive for the Stepford Wives) or Tom Hanks
