Anyone else here a fan of this British comedy series? Just got the DVD collection...very enjoyable for multiple viewings.

Follow Ups:
EW had an article listing this as one of the best DVD sets of TV and I selected it as a present. I started to watch the first episode and really was unimpressed. Very boorish if nothing else. Does it get better or is the first ep the standard. What makes it so good?
I'd be the first to admit that this tpe of humor probably isn't for everyone. If you're a fan of Monty Python and or John Cleese, you're sure to like it. And I do think it might grow on you with more episodes...

I am a fan of Monty Python. I am just hoping the later episodes get better than the humor of having John Cleese play an annoying person.
Basil goes over the edge and in light of Harry's behaviour this week, it is very funny.Tosh

Thanks for the feedback.
"Whatever you do, don't mention the war."
Torquay is as described.Tosh
"I think this place is restricted Wang, so don't tell them you're Jewish"
The most consistently hilarious sitcom ever, period. My personal favorites are The Germans, The Wedding Party and Basil the Rat, but all of the episodes have their side-splitting moments.
HiI vote the scene were Basil Fawlty is trying to cheer up the German guests (after having made numerous gaffes by mentioning the war, and making them cry) by doing a Hitler impersonation (complete with goose step) as the BEST COMEDY MOMENT OF ALL TIME.
German: "Would you please stop mentioning the war"
Fawlty: "You started it"
German: "No we did not"
Fawlty: "Yes you did - you invaded Poland"
Along with the Young Ones
I had this on noisy videos I recorded from PBS broadcasts. Then I got the full set on VHS. Just last week, I got the DVD set. Watched 3 episodes over the last couple of days. As many times as I've seen these, I still laugh out loud. Haven't ever found anything to compare.
To me, Fawlty Towers is a bit like Seinfeld--that is, I can watch the same episode multiple times and continue to find it funny.
