Hollywood is doing more remakes from Asia, now its Korean films. I heard they were doing a remake of "My Sassy Girl", but now they are doing "Il Mare" starring Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves, the combo from "Speed". These folks seem to be scarfing up the rights to ALOT of movies coming out of the Far East. I guess its easier than being original.

Follow Ups:
Yea, all these remakes and redos of foreign movies is because there is a tremendous lack of writing talent in Hollywood these days. When was the last time you saw a movie with a really original story line that made some sense or wasn't just plain stupid?
"Sideways", "The Aviator", "Collateral", "Closer"...
Okay, I over generalized, but they are few and far between.
I have long maintained that Hollywood and the indies combined produce only 10 good films a year, films one would want to see more than once.
