I thought Denzel phoned in the performance: it's full his grinning and mugging and other of his mannerisms.
The plot is trite, the females uninteresting---the latter is a deathblow to a film noir wannabe.
Sure, every film can't be "Body Heat," but in singling this one out for praise, you've elevated it far beyond the popcorn accompaniment it is.
Did I mention how hokey the denouement is (and how can one make Florida look so...visually blah?).
Denzel's "Blue Dress" movie was MUCH better and you can drool over Ms. Beal, to boot.

I agree - I thought this one was pretty weak. I had the feeling Denzel was sleepwalking his way through Out of Time.
The movie would have been much more enjoyable with increased footage of Eva Mendez :-)
