ZPoint is an interesting one. Great Soundtrack if you like the Greatful Dead and Pink Floyd. Get in the zone and watch the closing explosion scene, Far out.......man....
I was wondering about this one. Didn't it get some bad reviews?
I would not call it a good movie. There are far better ones.
The film festival is only covering Antonioni. All of his films, if I'm not mistaken.Did he make a lot of anti-establishment films?
***Did he make a lot of anti-establishment films?I have to admit I am not hot on social agendas in movies. I usually don't pay attention to them, unless it is too obvious. I am not the best guy to ask this question. I guess I would have to go back and see. Perhaps Steve could answer this - ask him directly, he is better at noticing things and recording them in his bottomless memory (he gets my respect for that ability of his).
Most of the time, movie directors/producers and actors are the worst people to ask the opinion on social issues. Directors are usually too absorbed in what they are doing from the artistic standpoint to be aware or clear on what is going on, and the actors are usually too dumb to understand. That, unfortunately, is true even of the best actors - they are good line readers, that's what this profession is about. Nothing wrong with that.
Good luck, sounds like fun days. Tell us what you thinks afterwards.
Don't know but I could see reviewers not liking this one. It's one of those anti-establishment, disenfranchisement, eyecandy 70s type film. It's all good fun and easy to find at a rental shop.
I'd like to see some more of those anti-establishment films. Off the top of my head, there's "Dr. Stragelove", "Catch-22", "JFK". Does "Repo Man" qualify?. Oh, yes, about a year ago, I saw "Medium Cool" for the first time. Do you think there are enough good Anti-estabs for discussion in a thread?
