Andy Garcia plays a long suffering airline pilot husband of alcoholic housewife Meg Ryan in this typicl addict struggles to overcome plot. The couple is raising two small daughters, the older from a previous Ryan relationship. Garcia is a devoted husband and father. Along the way Ryan checks into a detox and rehab center and Garcia develops jealousy over her new friends and life style. Garcia then ends up attending Al Anon meetings. All in all, very predictable but enjoyable, if you like this sort of thing. Ryan ceratinly is gorgeous eye candy, even at her low points.

Well summarized, Rico. Actually, this is one of my all-time faves. I just love it when everybody is happy in the end.....real life gives us enough $#!+ as it is, so when putting up the dollars I want a happy ending!!!! For what it's worth, I wasn't so sure how it was going to end when he was in Denver and she gave her 6 month sobriety speech at the meeting in San Francisco......but all's well that ends well. I cried the happy tears.
Watched it a couple weeks ago on TV and I thought it was quite good (surpisingly.) I thought the older daughter was quite convincing, even though her part was pretty small. The ending was predictable, as you mentioned, but where, when amd how it happend caught me off guard.
Yes I found it too " sur-pising " He-he....
