and faceless. You knew they'd beat them all once they got to state. The eventual champions also had no identity. How can you have suspense with no adversary?
Billy Bob had zero worthwhile scenes away from the football. He did his usual non-acting, check out the scene when he lets the Bobbie convince him to start. Zero emotion at that moment.
I don't think Billy Bob has Hackman's range or power. BB is a non-hero, nihilist type...His best role was his first, One False Move (?).
Follow Ups:
and followed that season live anyway. I'd agree that Hackman was better than BBT. Hoosiers might be the best sports movie of all time. BBT's best? goddamn Bad(er) Santa is a personal fav although I missed One False Move (or forgot it?). Loved Slingblade as well and liked Pushing Tin (w/John Cusack)...By the way, and I may be stating the obvious, but in real life, Boobie tore his knee up in practice, not in a game. And he wasn't particularly well liked on the team. His cockiness, portrayed in the show quite well, wasn't temepered with humour, in real life he had cockiness and arrogance.
And thanks for the info.
We'll try to do it.
