  Y'know, it's not that great of a "movie", as a film.

  But the story itself is so gripping not even its shortcomings can sink it, and the film is anchored by the two outstanding lead performances. (Their noms were their rewards.)

  Don Cheadle is wonderful in it, but then, he's wonderful in whatever he's in. I hope this is the breakthrough role he needs to get the recognition he deserves.

  BTW, I thought Imelda Staunton's performance in Vera Drake was FAR and away the best performance of the year, in a year that was full of great performances.

  One False Move.

  What a great movie. Cheadle and the actress playing his wife were superb. I believe their Oscar nominations WERE their awards. No way Cheadle was going to unseat Foxx for Best Actor nod, and the chick was a longshot for supporting actress by all accounts. This flick was too far out of mainstream Hollywood to win awards, but a helluva ride. Mrs. Warrior even liked it. And brother, thats saying something. Shes the Out Of Africa (BLECH!!!) type.       I looked all over Blockbuster. Nowhere to be found. New Relases? Neyt! Drama? Ditto. Action? Not. Suspense? No go. Comedy? Try again. Unless its a horror movie, a western, or a musical they don't have it. And no way I was gonna ask the 16 yr old twirp at the counter for help. He looked way too much like Scott "potty mouth" Woebcke..
      I'll try again at another outlet. The porn rental place across the tracks has a good selection of regular releases in the main store.
