I skipped it when it was in the local theatre - is it worth a rental? I heard a few people discussing it this afternoon at work and it sounds interesting.......
Follow Ups:
2 young guys on the road through South America. There is a small amount of beatification of Che. But it's not overbearing, just a couple of points where his near saintliness is apparent. All in all, it's a very nicely done road movie, and this is a classic genre that never gets old.
Still, it had a "Chariot of Gods" moment which I thought was a bit over the top (after you see it I'll be specific).
Still, the film works on many levels, no matter your political persuasion (considering the subject matter, it's not a diatribe in any sense).
The cinematographer, wisely, doesn't allow the magnificent scenery to overwhelm the human story.
This director is responsible for "Central Station" which I felt is a better picture, but less important.
