Taking out the garbabe here is frought with passion, "Damn it, it IS your turn!"
One can also see various creatures near the garbage bins at night, such as armadillos, racoons, assorted garden snakes, and palm rats. Quite interesting!
Actually, J&J IS the most boring of the "great" films I've seen. Not long ago, I rented it to see if my tastes had "matured" since I saw it 15 years ago. Nope.
Not only is the direction poor, there is no memorable scene. But the malaise goes deeper: a film that places Jeanne as the femme fatale already is doomed. She looks nasty, ill-humored, pasty-faced, and her body looks doughy.
Truffaut? Shoot the Piano Player, a couple of the "400 Blows" installments...and a lot of dreck.
Follow Ups:
Same here... seen long ago, then so well forgotten I thought I have not seen it, and now this...But didn't you see that Jules was really William Buckley Jr? Good thing he moved on from making movies to making waves.
The only human face in the whole fiasco was Gilberte - one could feel a compassion for her, being caught in that dumb and boring game with no end, and fortunately for her the end came, so she was finally free to move on with her life.
