Victor,But, I guess that would that have to make it "Purple Rain"?
My guess was based entirely on the figure's outgoing nature and the empty bottles in the background. I have never been in a room with Russians AND full bottles.
I haven't heard of "Purple Moon" but if you mean "Purple Noon", I would have to guess this photo is of Alain Delon having undergone the effects of the "relentless time" you mention. It's been awhile since I've seen him and of course really remember him from 1960.
Reel to reel: I used a Roberts 770 for years and loved it's two built-in mono tube amplifers. I didn't need to put it on Ebay, my mother thought the handle on the top meant it should be toted elesehere and she eventually sold this at a church jumble sale for about $10. My father had a pair of 50's RCA ribbon mikes (one with broken ribbon) that went for $5 about that same time. I have several friends with absolutely beautiful Tandbergs and Revoxi that sit for years at a time under dust covers- like my Nakamichi BX cassette- mint 20 year old things.
Relentless time indeed!
Cheers,

Someone put those two letters too close on keyboard, and with my finger smashed and looking like an Italian sausage it is trying to hit two for the price of one.Revoxes shall never dies, they just fade away into the homes of a few nuts, who will keep recording their Barry Manilov's LP's on them and claim nothing sounds better.
Yep... Delon doesn't look like his former dashing self in that one.
