I was able to see some very good independent films this last week here. It is refreshing to know there is still some good talent out there trying to make intelIgent films. I was able to attend several showings for students of university film classes and they all had the directors and sometime actors present for questions after the showings. What a great experience.

Should have been more definitive. Anyway if you have a chance to attend film festivals in your area do so. It is a good opportunity to see some good independent films that you may not have access to in the future. Also they probably could use your support. There are some great finds out there, look for them.
...were the films that especially impressed you in SF?
I found the film... Mouth to Mouth sort of inovative. It is a England/German production by new directer Alison Murray. As most festival films are usually of a serious subject matter, and so is this one. It is about some homeless kids that travel to Portugal to start a different lifestye community. The film techniques used were very effective . Also the directer having a dance background created a couple of scenes where the actors evolve into a sort of dance dialogue insted of using words to express some feelings and emotions. Sounds strange but worked very well in my opinion.
