rico,Sorry, "I'm Can Poor" is the only anagram of "Panic Room" I could come up with quickly.
Next week, I'm going to start a thread: "Movies that have no apparent Use of any Kind and Why the hell were They ever made?". I'll appreciate your entries and "Panic Room" is a good start.
The first one on my list is "Runaway Jury". I'm sorry I didn't run away sooner from that one.
My theory is that we're so baffled by the utter pointlessness of these kind of movies that we refuse to believe it. We continue watching, believing there's going to be a surprise burst of intelligence that was subtly stringing us along.
There's a fear that we might miss something brilliant. Of course, the brilliant surprise never comes and we kick ourselves for falling for the old trick of the merely confused and obscure parading as intelligence.
Cheers,

How fascinating* ....true.
* In the sense that we wait for something happening in a picture, that, of course never will realised, and let us dumfound about so much stupidity...
It can be like watching fire or sunset, and I think it is natural and even needed to all of us. No names coming up to my mind at the moment, but I remember having a few such experiences. But I suspect this might be a different shade of "pointless" than what Bam is talking about. As the beauty can never be pointless.
Yes, no doubt a different shade. We ( are thinking, Bamby B and I ) of films whose creations are worthless in the sense that you wait for the right direction of a given film, what will be the next move in the intention of the director, but nothing, but nothing at all ever comes.
That has a totally different context of a film where apparently nothing happen, yes just apparently.
I was just trying to broaden the perspective there.
