Yeah, the SMA from the original was utterly convincing. And the sculpting was beyond reproach. Those guys from WETA could learn a lot from the original. Now let me get my tongue out of my cheek. It's lodged.

    Pretty hard to do worse. While I do have a nostalgic fondness for the original it is quite dated and the effects are really bad by just about any standad. May be the wrost fake gorilla ever. Well no, I have seen worse but not from the team at WETA.

I'm sure that it's a bit better than your's, because you obviously weren't able to play the streaming video back; it was quite impressive, CGI, acting, period settings, etc.
