    ...based on my attorney friends' tales, throwing a phone normally doesn't result in jail time...for anyone.

    I'm not condoning Rusty's bad behavior, I'm just saying we don't need to be letting pro criminals out of jail and puting hot-headed movie stars into jail.

    He threw a telephone at a hotel employee whan he couldn't get through to his wife back in Australia. There is a civil suit and a criminal one which could result in up to seven yesrs in prison for assault.

      Where you can get seven years for "throwing a telephone" & nothing for years as a mafia boss. Truely an astounding place. So many great things and so much nonsense all on one little strip of sod.

    He was staying at some hotel in NY, he asked the desk clerk or concierge or someone to get him a number in Australia. There were problems with the international call, he got pissed off and threw the phone at the clerk, clocking him in the head. He's already been arraigned and discharged on bail. He needs to spend a few quality months in Rikers, IMHO.
