  ... and I am no fan of Cruise. But is there a specific complaint about his performance in both WoTW or in Minority Report. I enjoyed both of these movies and Cruise did not bother me.

    the last laugh is on these people who actually pay to go and see it or spend the TIME to watch it -- or both. I don't like Brussel sprouts but I'm smart enough to stop buying them. Lot of really dumb people out there.

      Actually nobody is hating anybody, at least in my world. And keeping in touch with what is done nowdays maybe be waste of time when it comes to big production, still an open mind try to be curious.
      But it is a personal choice.

    First, MR I did not find it not that bad at all and shortly I wrote here that I want to make another go at it.
    That been said, what I do not like in TC? Easy, he is always staring but in a way as you may think that he is in his inner self, and where he can find nothing, but emptiness,
    Difficult for me to tell in your language, but you may have a glimpse of what I meant...

      I have to agree with you in that I don't like it when actors have stock or trade mark expressions. But very few don't have them. Very very few.

        In fact in the early time of his film career ( Rain Man ) I did like him and founf him promising, then came this stupid teen age film ( Top Gun ) and he was on his way to nothing.
        Who make the egg first?
        And now his role in this religion taking Orwellian dimension, as long he was private about it but now preaching and forbidding any reviews before the release.....

        Both movies did nothing for me.
        On the other hand, I don't care what an actor does outside of acting. What TC says about religion is completely irrelevant to me. Just because someone is a famous actor, does not mean he has anything to say of interest on any other topic.

        Well Kubrick choose him also... maybe more like a cusiosity under the microscope of his camera?

        ...and it works when that flaw is explored. In Eyes Wide Shut, it was his view of sexuality that was shallow. In WoTW, it was his irresponsibility.
        They tried to do the same thing with Rain Man, but the subject matter just didn't interest me.

        I think Kubrick was a dark angel for both actors marriage, not that he did do something what would have end their union, no just hasten the end of it.
        But who knows...
