..(which he may be) and then interpreting his "staring" accordingly.I have to agree with you in that I don't like it when actors have stock or trade mark expressions. But very few don't have them. Very very few.
Follow Ups:
In fact in the early time of his film career ( Rain Man ) I did like him and founf him promising, then came this stupid teen age film ( Top Gun ) and he was on his way to nothing.
Who make the egg first?
And now his role in this religion taking Orwellian dimension, as long he was private about it but now preaching and forbidding any reviews before the release.....
Strong tobacco.
Both movies did nothing for me.On the other hand, I don't care what an actor does outside of acting. What TC says about religion is completely irrelevant to me. Just because someone is a famous actor, does not mean he has anything to say of interest on any other topic.
Rain Man had a kind of synergy between the two actors if I remember, well it was a long time ago!
I though that he my give an actor.
Well Kubrick choose him also... maybe more like a cusiosity under the microscope of his camera? For me it is relevant because I do not like at all the way of manipulating the press and also we, the people.
No, I do not.
...and it works when that flaw is explored. In Eyes Wide Shut, it was his view of sexuality that was shallow. In WoTW, it was his irresponsibility. They tried to do the same thing with Rain Man, but the subject matter just didn't interest me.
Your guess.
I think Kubrick was a dark angel for both actors marriage, not that he did do something what would have end their union, no just hasten the end of it.
But who knows...
Yet both have squeezed out some good movies.
Same fo Dustin Hoffman! He goes on my nerves for a long time!
HF was too much present in too many bad films.
Still I like this guy.
Why?
Tell me...
