I probably fall more on Patrick's side of things on this one. Not perfect, somewhat contrived, but I like both performers, and liked both their performances. Binoche is usually acts more from the inside, leaving the viewer to interpret her mannerism, facial expressions, etc. Here she was more demonstrative in her acting. I liked the change. Reno was his usual dependable self.One thing that I would disagree with Patrick is that I felt this movie to be more of a typical American film rather than a French film. I think French films tend to be less contrived that American films, particularly when it involves members of the opposite sex meeting, and carrying on.

Well being realistic the > French films from now look more like than the American one, now more than never...
You know most of the French directors always looked to the US films and their directors as their heroes.
