I actually enjoyed this movie as it gave insights into all the twisto's I've had relationships with before. Ricci was good but Jessica Lange put in an oscar caliber performance as her harried, frustrated Jewish mother. The film did not warm me to Ricci, who is particularly strange looking despite her dynamite body, but it managed to convey the actions of a seriously screwed in the head female locked in an eternal conflict between a guilt lobbing mother and always absent father. Ricci did do an excellent portrait of a self-sabotaging young woman who just can't get it together. Heche, who was Ricci's shrink, played the most seriously straight role of her career.
