I guess I'm more concerned about 'appropriation' in that the original was given only limited release in the US and the remake will be given worldwide release so reaping in more $$$$ for Hollywood to rip off more films and make more...etc, etc.
Maybe it'll be fun, though, is that what you're saying?

They have to make money and they can afford to make it a bigger deal in terms of advertising. It is a shame that more independent films are not more popular, but neither are plays or opera. It is just the economics of it I think. It's a good story, so they will exploit it. I liked "The Ring".
