Something about Japanese horror genre disturbs me. I was entertained by movies like "Ringu" "Ju-On" in a morbid way. Last night I watched "Spiral," which was a much worse quality movie but disturbed me anyway. The usual Hollywood gore doesn't bother me, but these Japanese flicks can seriously give you the creeps..

Maybe, because they're so traditionally 'rigid' in real life, they have a way of putting their finger on the unconscious side of things?
Yea, Japanese horror has a way with atmosphere and the bizarre.

was that the "spiral" of the Ringu series, or Uzumaki? The latter is truely strange.
I recently watched "Cursed", about a haunted convenience store- another Japanese horror movie that creeps you out in that disturbing way.

was the one. How'd you like them human snails?!?
Yea, rather strange. I really like that movie anyways. My wife hates it though. If you haven't already, check out Kairo and Cursed(not the werewolf movie, and get the uneditd version). They have that similar sort of creepy feeling. Gotta love the Japanese for their weirdness.
