How old is this man now? Or did you meant from " kindergarten " to " schoolboy " Ha-ha!
Follow Ups:
While I am not a big fan of Jaws, I would gladly allow that it was Spielberg's finest achievement. So in essence he moved from the second grade into the kindergarten since then. But given his age it looks like he is heading for nursing home soon. Certainly things like the SPR would set low point in any career.Good thing all his movies made money, else we would be supporting him there... I mean in the home.
C'mon VK, these had a lot going for them. Don't get me wrong, I loved Jaws, and it may be better than some of these, but to imply that Jaws is only work with something to recommend? Nahhhh. IMHO of course.
What can I say? I know you are not the only one who likes his films - his success speaks for itself.BTW - I would not recommend the Jaws to someone simply seeking good films, as I do not rate it highly. I would only suggest it in the context of movie history, as it represents a noticeable step.
If you'd like, I'll gladly leave the room for a short while so that you two can have some privacy. ;^)
LOL - I thought the word was suck not scratch but whatever. You really can't convince all of the people all of the time -- after all there are people who cannot stand the success of some other people. Spielberg is a master of what he does and it seems any genre he tackles he masters.
While I do not share Victor almost totally negative review of Spielbergīs work, my main point is being VERY dissapointed about his last years of filming.
No doubt, he is just now a middle of the way director.
Back then I had some hopes for more.
---The nursing home...Ha-ha
;^)
And yet you are not fully wrong...maturity is where you thought you are, ist it so?
...but let's not make this personal. Your off-hand dismissal of Spielberg's thoughtful take on WoTW demonstrates an inability to see beyond the surface of a well crafted film; the lack of any kind of well reasoned analysis on your part speaks volumes (no interpretor is required). 'Nuff said.
" Not personal "....So whatīs about " your hate for " which interly false!
WoTW is just a big loud " merde " just as the films you so cherish, you know which I mean.
They are made for teenager, but not from the intellectual kind.
No wonder you like them.
Now letīs get personal....
...if you DON'T hate his films. Here's some of your Grey Poupon Euro-blathering about Spielberg's achievements:> > > "How old is this man now? Or did you meant from " kindergarten " to " schoolboy " Ha-ha!" < < <
Does this sound like an intelligent comment from someone who actually LIKES his work?
Maybe in your neck of the woods (i.e., the Black Forest or perhaps the imaginary follage of Mars) such nonsense is meant as PRAISE for a successful Director's accomplishments, but if that's the case, then even the words "faint praise" hardly does justice to your remarks.
FYI, I've criticized some of Steven Spielberg's films myself using objective criteria and on a film by film basis, but never in such an insulting, demeaning manner as to imply that the sum of his work is the product of a film-maker who lacks the maturity to direct.
Can only be an attribute you can use for yourself. Beside the film Nazis I despite nobody and certainly not Mr. Spielberg. Your citing is just out of context in your poor failing ( un ) logic. ( point )
The only words left out were in your Subject header (" Growing maturity " Ha-ha------)!!!How much more context do you need? LOL!
