The weakest part of it, from an intellectual point of view is the way the director told us " do not believe in superstion " but actually endorse it.
In case of doubt he says, it can not be of any detriment. Hence he is like this old women, to use the typical cliche.
And so limit himself.
But not to forget he has to do a film of supranatural quality, and that is the conflict.
While being at time very predictable, I think it has a certain kind of typically " Spanish Charm " ...
It is somehow like a ghost of a ghost of a film. A highly moral film.
It has definitively a strong charm of his own.
I am curious how you will see it.
A warning : do not let the " civil Spanish revolution " too much influence you.
