Actually, this is much harder to do than "Ten favorite movies" - There are so many directors who did one or two of my favorite movies, not a whole body of excellent work (Wenders and Coppola come to mind).

I think The Conversation, Apocalypse Now & most of the first two Godfathers are brilliant, yet I can't put Coppola in my top ten.

And a lot more comes to my mind too!
Our list is very close, save for W.Allen that I very like, particulary " Hannah and her Sisters "
but not enough for the ten, but for the thirty....
