Could you find out about these DVD's of Waterloo? Are they in German only, are they available, etc? If it's only 9 Euros, could you buy one to evaluate?
That is one film I have been dreaming of having on a DVD, and if this disc has English on it, I will, this time, promise! buy a multi-sistem player.

I just came back from a funeral. So I am a little late sorry!

The first is in German(mono), but has optional English (5.1) and optional English(and other) subtitles.
The UK import is in English only. Both are widescreen.

    You will have pleasure of seeing it long before me... but that is OK. Watching it on wide screen must be a treat, as long as the transfer is good.

      Well. I already have seen it. But it is so long ago I can only remeber the stagging performance of Rod Steiger.
      It must have been in Nice.
