thought it was hilarious and illustrated the anger and hurt the character tried to conceal behind his offensive manner(s).
Much later, we realize how much he still is in love with his former wife and the shock her pregnancy is to him.
His temper seems to fit in with your on-line persona...

I do not remember the scene. Which illustrates that the worth of a film can overcome a minor scene or two. I am not sure why one scene would ruin a film, lest you wanted it to.
