I still feel Sean Connery did the best Bond. Maybe they need the gadgets to make up for a lack of character?
I never really thought about your points before your post, but feel the same in my own way. I think the old Bond movies had class, the new ones have better toys. Without the toys, would Brosnan etal be able to carry the role?
