I caught the second half of it on TV, and got drawn into it. Cate Blanchett was superb, and given my serious admiration for her talent I felt I was treated nicely. Ditto for Tommy Lee Jones - they together formed a marvelous duo. Definitely an above average American movie, and what I saw makes me want to rent it to see it in its entirety.I normally don't like Ron Howard's films, this may be the first one I consider worth the time.
Follow Ups:
I agee.I might have mentioned on this forum how good this film is.
Maybe not quite as good but good too is another father movie "City by the Sea" with Robert Di Niro.
quiet down front there, please!). I had to switch it off before the ending, but what I saw was quite entertaining.
Blanchett's Southern accent was WAY over the top, however, and almost as irritating as Jodie Fosters in "Silence of the Lambs."
I almost always enjoy Tommy Lee Jones, a real cowboy that went to Harvard and graduated.
I saw this theatrically andf enjoyed it very much.
