Well, both movies have gotten some very good reviews (for what that's worth -- very little I know). And I think Natalie was unformly good in them. Closer may give a glimpse of what she may mature into as an actor.

Closer is based on a play and the dialogue has that staged quality to it (ie people don't really talk like that in real life.) Clearly Pdl did not like it but I found it worth watching.

Garden State I like but I believe it is not your thing, given the movies you've praised and panned here. Unfortunately too, the first half is the more boring half, so even if you gave it a try you might give up on it.

I'd be interested in your impressions, as your opinions generally are well informed, even if my tastes run more mainstream US than yours.
