Umbrellas of Cherbourg...One of the most boring film ever....
Follow Ups:
That is exactly how I remember the Umbrellas too, but very recently a friend, who is a somewhat savvy movie buff, rated it as one of the best movies ever, or something close. That shocked us, but so far we have resisted the temptation to try it again.
Lola is way above the Umbrellas. As I said, it does have promise, and some of the characters are quite palpable, and the mood is well defined too.
Well your friend must somehow have been in love when he saw it.
I tried to saw it a second time, but I flew away as fast I could from it.
If one think it may be a " cult " film then....
