Jim:I agree that, after Scarface, Al did seem to fixate on these street-tough roles. Then again, he's always played streetwise characters. Michael Corleone, arguably, was the first, followed by Serpico. Personally, I've always enjoyed him in these roles. He does nearly everything well, but in these roles, he's especially believable, IMO. That's probably why I like "Carlito's Way" so much. Sean Penn is another big reason why. He's another guy who seemingly can't do much wrong in his films. Thanks for your response. It was very enlightening.
