I saw it today at a matinee and I agree with you. I don;t mind raunchy humour and some scenes reminded me of There's Something about Mary. The last half was definitely superior to the first half - some scenes didn't quite work for me but on the whole it was funny, resembles real life folks (the dweebie insecure friends telling him how to get laid work where else at the Best-Buy Equivelent which in itself is rather amusing). It was a sweet movie at its core even a little naive and I had a smile on my face when I left. One could pick things in it apart but if you leave with a smile for whatever reason it's a good movie.
Follow Ups:
Very perceptive! There was joy, joy, joy at the end.
Plus, for myself, the more theatrical (i.e. stage-like) a movie is, the better I like it -- and I don't mean it has to be confined within three walls.
