Allo Allo is the series that made fun of the resistance in France and did a superb job on the Nazis.
My favorite Black Adder period was the WW1 series that nailed the war and all of its stupidity 100%.

  Oh! I forgot! Actually I saw it, as it is a favourite from one of my Germany friends ( Italian origin ) and he " forced " me to watch it. The German accent was funny. And the scenes in a French bar are still in memory!
