Four year olds are impressionable but Tim Burton has a good heart, I believe.

..it's good also that Burton can manifest that darker, gothic, child-like side in this type of film, within Hollywood.
What was that German literary/moral kid's story character with the wild orange hair and long finger nails?
Reminds me of that....did you ever see 'Vincent' by Burton?
