. .. should've been called "End of Plot" let alone subplot. . It was im-Mortal Combat with even more B-movie stupidity. . IE: the best fighters consistantly looses for no good reason. . Nothing examplifies this more than the mass immortal execution scene.. Then, as if to say we spent enough money & we removed our budget, they filmed the last scene as cheaply as possible. . I swear the actor was standing over a cardboard tombstone & a green scene behind him which was placed a still shot.

I've only seen the first two Highlander movies... They were amazing. I could tell by the first trailer that this one was gonna suck, that it wasn't going to be like the first two. Have you seen the third? If so, what was it like?
That one was cool. I bought the LD along with the original. I wan't a big fan of the 2nd, even though Sean Connery returned which was enough insentive to buy a VHS copy. The plot whole revamp urked me. Suddenly, the immortals were aliens & what's more they knew they were. It seemed so much more contrived. Not that I'm a snob about such Hollywood formulas, but it wasn't done well. Plus, it removed the charmed from the movie. The 3rd was much more truer to the orignal plot & heart-warming subplots.I found the same scenerio with "Die Hard". I bought the 1st & 3rd on LD. I try to forget the whole airport on the 2nd.

I was under the assumption that they’d lost their memory when transplanted on Earth. Maybe re-born? To me, the charm of the Highlander series has always been the use of ‘80s rock music accompanying cool scene transitions. I wasn’t a big fan of the “heart-warming subplots” in the first Highlander. I admit that I’m too much of an emotional person to be able to sleep after watching Heather age and die. :(
... was the use of innovative editting like the added dimensionality in the final fight scene & the seemeless scene transitions in the original. It wasn't the usual expensive FX. It was a less just a fresh perspective at cinema photograghy. But, if the story didn't develope the characters, all this would've been for nought. I don't think it would've been recognized. Recognition is God in Hollywood.I consider Highlander, the Matrix of its day. While the Highlander brought new emphisis on editting & filming to the art of the story, Matrix brought style. "Avengers" did this before but wasn't recognized. Even, "Lost in Space" developed the CGI for on of the famous Matrix scenes, but wasn't recognized (all probably because of that virtual alien. I shouldn't talk I feel the same way about that radio personality in 5th Element. If only that character died).
As far as the Highlander soundtrack is concerned, I think I'll have to dig those films out again. I never noticed a perponderance of any particular genre...........
