Wasn't Bob Balaban in 2010? And also in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, for that matter! When are they gonna make a Close Encounters II: Return of the Mothership?
(he-he!)
Follow Ups:
SF Tech,-And the intense band leader in "Waiting for Guffman" and the foul mouthed Charlie Chan movie producer in Micheal Gambon murdering "Gosford Park". Yes, Bob Balaban is your one-stop acting line stylist.
Balaban is interesting- one of those actors that usualy is in the mix of the second tier of the important characters, but he's still memorable- he does small things well.
"Close Encounters II": Richard Dreyfuss returns in the mothership five years later, horribly aged about 60 ears- and contrary to General Relativity:
Nerd 1: "Einstein was wrong."
Nerd 2: "Einstein was one of THEM"
Nerd 1: "Well then I'm right. That means I'm smarter than Einstein."
Nerd 2: " Hey! Let's get Boogers and revolt at the sorority slumber party and show those jocks a thing or to about high amperages."
Next time I'll tell you my idea for "Hamlet 2"
Cheers,
I managed to read your post. "High Amperages"! That is some funny shit...Balaban is the simple, second tier actor that you describe!
But he's the best godamned, simple, second tiered actor... Ever!
my sincere apologies for the non-sequitor-ish nature of my post in this topic...but the fact remains. I'll watch ANYTHING featuring Bob Balaban!
