In Reply to: Best sequels: that to Jean de Florette. posted by tinear on October 6, 2005 at 18:53:16:
I Think "Manon of the Spring" is a continuation of the story, not a later concieved sequel.
Follow Ups:

Most (not all) sequels are conceived after the original is successful in an attempt to make more money by further milking the concept. "Jean..." and "Manon..." come from a single source.
It was conceived as an entity from scratch.
Aka " Jean de Florette II ".
In juxaposition to a film whose " following " remains incertain.
PS: Would you consider the break in says, " Ben-Hure " while sitting in the theater two different films?

Is it not what I said?
