One of my all time favorites. I vaguely remember George Clooney doing a remake for television that wasn't half bad either. Also about the same time period was "Seven Days in May" that still brings chills when I watch it. Still very timely and something I half expected during the Clinton years and his war with the military.
Music is Emotion
Follow Ups:
I am looking for a script from "Fail Safe".
My video production students would like to try to do a LIVE shoot simular to Cloony's.
Any help greatly appreciated.
The Clooney version was made my Warner Bros TV, and was actually a filmed-live event (Directed by Stephen Frears in 2000). Faithful to the original, and pretty good, as a result. Can't beat the Lumet piloted original. Remember Larry Hagman as the president's interpreter? Dom Deluise has a small character part in the war room. Nicely done.
The clooney one was done live and it indeed was very good. That riot scene at the begining of "Seven Days in May" is real. While the film makers were setting up for their staged riot a real one occurred and so a lot of the footage is of an actual riot.
