Anyone see this? I got a copy from Hong Kong (in fact a boxed set) and it's quite a good, mindbending story of a cop who goes undercover as a criminal and a criminal goes undercover as a cop! Makes for some very interesting situations.Another plus is the high end audio interwoven throughout. The cop works in a audio shop with tube amps everywhere! The criminal eventually buys a great looking system from him!
Follow Ups:
the cop doesn't work in the audio shop. He was there (undercover as a triad gangster) to collect extortion money. The owner went out momentarily. Later when the owner was back, you see the cop wrangling a pair of expensive (few thousand bucks) cables for 'home trial'.Anyway, I didn't like this one. It isn't obvoius, there is a veneer of faux sophistication and busy production values, but beneath that is the typical big-on-style make-it-pacy-so-you-won't-notice-the-stupid-plot crap.
HI,
Gotta watch all three films to 'get it' and i'm sure scorsese's remake will be worse.
That plot sounds like the one for "The Departed", the new film by Martin Scorcese, now in post-production.
That may be the remake of Infernal Affairs, that has been in the works for quite a while now.
