..superb acting - Samantha Morgan's a find! and kudos to Crudup, great second roles (Holly Hunter, Hopper) great screenplay (great novel by Denis Johnson which I'd also read) on the theme of salvation, where does life end and death begin?...nihilist society, redemption through compassion.
Highly recommended and could do with a second viewing, for sure.
Follow Ups:
I could only make it through the first 30 minutes - none of the characters or the story was of interest to me. Was the film adapted from a book? I could have sworn I read a book with that title about 10 years ago.

..I just love it when people see things differently!

"Where are we going? And what am I doing in this hand basket?"
Jodorowski's El Topo.....which most people seem to find the biggest piece of crap ever! lol!
I'm sure I have no critical taste at all....oh well.

I haven't seen Jesus' Son. I was just trying to make a joke about you saying you like it when people disagree.

....did you read his books?
"Already Dead" is enormous - and I read the french language version!!
I really did like this film and at the moment, my film attention span is zilch!

I've wanted to see Jesus' Son but haven't been in the mood for a heroin/drug movie since seeing Requiem For A Dream. I'll throw it on my Netflix list and let it arrive when it arrives.Haven't read any of his books either... but after looking into them may check out JS and "Angel" before tackeling "Already Dead."
