An incredible meandering waste of talent and resources. And meandering is what Orlando Bloom's character does for two hours, meandering through Jerusalem without purpose or a cause. Then he becomes a military genius in the last half hour. The film would have been better if they told it from the P.O.V. of Salahadin (he spared the Christians, was regarded by muslims as a minor historical figure and betrayer).

Rumor has it that the movie was severely cut down for theatrical release, and an "extended edition" will be released next year (approximately 4 hours long).
More material to develop the story will help, but it won't address most the movie's shortcomings.
