I saw this in the theater and remember enjoying it. I watched it again last night and became even more involved in the intertwined stories of racism in modern day Los Angeles. I don't find the film contrived or manipulative as some do and I willingly surrendered to its charms.
Follow Ups:
After a second viewing at home the cliches and manipulation were thoroughly transparent and the level of being taken by it was greatly reduced.
"Where are we going? And what am I doing in this hand basket?"
One of the best films ever seen..great acting, great stories and lessons to be learnt (if only some would learn)..AP

I wish Sandra Bullock could get more serious roles; she was great in this.
